Prayer for a Softer Era with Razrbark
Each spring brings with it hopes of fresh starts, clean slates, and new beginnings. This spring, such a thing is not possible. In a moment marked by horrific violence and human suffering, there are no fresh starts. We carry with us the grief, the pain, the helplessness, the anger, the sorrow, the exhaustion.
This gathering asks how we might honor the concept of renewal by transmuting it into a renewed ability to be present with and responsive to today’s world. Razrbark takes us on a sonic journey to help us channel the emotions of this moment. Nocturnal Medicine guides us in a ritual for regeneration.
The dance floor is our temple, but tonight it is a space of rest. We sit, we lay, we hold each other – we inhabit the space however we are moved. We understand that tending to ourselves isn’t about disengagement – but about sustaining our engagement. That when we process our emotions we liberate energy to take constructive action. Together, we return to ourselves, nurture our communities, and build up our resilience.
Climate Healing Session: A Local Ecology-Inspired Sound Bath & Guided Meditation
Nocturnal Medicine leads a meditative journey and deep listening session that invites participants into their emotional and spiritual landscapes of ecological crisis and climate change. Our local land and its histories and ecologies will be our guide; and through them, we will connect with ourselves, with one another, and with the Earth. The experience consists of an original sound score, guided meditation, and prompts for engagement with the landscape of Liberty State Park.
Earth Dreams: A Summer Party for Grief & Love
This summer, Nocturnal Medicine presents a free urban gathering for a city facing climate change. Earth Dreams invites Toronto to confront the painful truths of our planetary health crisis, to explore where progress lies, and to celebrate emergent possibilities for the future of Earth. Featuring DJ sets by Me Time, Tender Buttons, and live poetry readings by Elder Dr. Duke Redbird.
Designed as a party with a meditative journey, this event will encompass collective solidarity, dancing, and moments of contemplation, all drawing from the cultural and ecological histories and futures of The Bentway.
Working with the understanding that today’s layered environmental crises evoke powerlessness and disconnection in so many, this event aims to catalyze our collective grief and joy as channels towards deeper love, accountability, and connection to our environment and to each other.

All Earth Temple Programs are FREE. This project is paid for by the Jersey City Arts & Culture Trust Fund. We believe that spaces for connecting deeply with one another and the non-human world should be public, free, and abundant. Earth Temple is a month-long glimpse of that world—a world in which coming together to love, grieve, and celebrate Earth and our roles within it is a cultural norm.
Earth Temple Programs: Golden Light Poetry — Open Mic Night Honoring Mama Gaia
An open mic night and open discussion (open to all art mediums) to honor our planet and all of the complexities of living on Mother Earth in a time where she is continuously refreshing herself of the ecological crises we face today.
Earth Temple Programs: DESIRE LINE with Cy X
Join artist, cyber witch, and eco-somatic practitioner Cy X for an afternoon exploring ecological grief through the body and movement. The afternoon will incorporate somatics, movement, improv dance, breathwork, and rest, weaving these all together to bring us into and through experiences of grief.
